As a part of LOKO, the Leuven student body council, LOKO Sport wants to motivate as many students as possible to be involved in sports through the organization of different events and activities in various sports and disciplines. As one of the most traditional amongst them, the Students Marathon is already coming to its 43rd edition.

The division into three distances gives the opportunity to reach a maximum number of running people that can join in the most convenient distance for each individual. It's important to know that everybody can participate in this event and not only students, despite of what the name of the event may suggest. Students as well as workers, alumni or teachers associated with the K.U.Leuven as people of the city and the outside region are more than welcome to strive for beautiful rewards.

The starting shot and the finishing line will both be in front of the Gymnasium at the Sports Faculty of Louvain (Tervuursevest 101, 3000 Leuven). Participants of the 21km will start at 5.30pm, 5 and 10km runners will start at 5.45pm. The track crosses the streets of Louvain and the beautiful surrounding nature. The 21km will also pass through the village of Bertem. During the event also supporters are welcome at the starting point, where music will be provided by a live DJ and drinks give some refreshment, on and around the track.
