ORIENTATION DAYS OR HOW TO GET AROUND

It’s a small city, or so you have been told. Still, you’re standing in the middle of a square, trying to figure out whether you’re holding your map upside down or not. The first days in your new university town are a little scary, confusing, and above all, very exciting. The participants of the international office, of Pangaea, of the international contact club (ICC) and of LOKO International are ready to help you get settled.
To inform you that the University in Leuven is practically everywhere you look, to arm you with a Dutch survival kit, to familiarize you with the educational system wherein you will function for some time and to make you aware of the monstrous fines cyclists are confronted with, the Orientation days (ODs) are organised from the 16th of September onwards. The highlight is the information fair on the first day, where volunteers of organisations that offer educational and social facilities are present to assist you personally in your big search. A couple of more specific information sessions follow further in the program. The Historical and Practical Tour of Leuven will eliminate the possibility of ending up totally lost is an absolute must not to look like an idiot while experiencing citymap-troubles. Other than receiving information where to hang around, you will get the opportunity to meet lots of people to hang around with. The first evening members of your faculty will introduce you in the secrets of the Leuven student life under the guidance of a Belgian beer. On the 17th you’re expected at the International Party in Alma 2; the opening gig of your Leuven-life that will keep you moving till the break of dawn. During the ODs, you can enlist for trips to Bruges (19th and 26th of September), in the opinion of many the most beautiful city of Belgium. The volunteers are ready to welcome you, hopefully you are too.
