The story of a sea otter (Enhydra lutris) threatened by extinction is a legend in the marine ecology dicipline. Owing to the fact that the sea otter is one of the key species in the Pacific Ocean ecosystem, North America, many scientists have paid it a lot of attention. it. When sea otters are threatened due to the intensive hunting of their fur, the kelp forest (macro-algae) also decline in terms of their population. Why did such a thing happen? Is it merely a coincidence?

Outlandish ideas shaping deplorable purposes, unmistakable clone-like leaders whose words border on absurdity and lie on political putrefaction, dismal intentions whose outrageous nature cannot but lead to bewilderment and sadness. Their common characteristics cannot escape notice: never, nowhere, for no one.

14th December 2009 could have simply been no more than one day in 2009 calendar, one day to welcome holidays and remember those special moments lived throughout the year, perhaps a good day to say goodbye to an intense decade and get ready to receive a new one. This day would however become especially different, particularly regretful, singularly shameful. This very day created a tendency amongst many Flemish students to let behind long years of tolerance and common sense. After years of vain struggle, last 14th of December saw the right-wing extremist student association NSV! enter the Political-Philosophical Convent of the University of Ghent. And then came Leuven.

HIV’s legacy is deeply marked by devastation, sorrow and hopelessness. In its less than 30 years of history, this lethal virus has infected millions of people and it has proved that its power of destruction does not know about borders, races, origins or sexualities. Last Tuesday, 1st of December, World AIDS Day, was a reminder that there is still much to do, although there is already much that is being done.
